Argues against the thesis of A particular Account of the Commencement and Progress of the Insurrection of the Negroes in St. Domingo, which began in August last, printed London, 1792, that the Amis des Noirs were to blame for the uprising; does not want the events in St. Domingo to influence the "question now before the British House of Commons," i.e. abolition of the slave trade
"Observations on the insurrections of the negroes in the island of St. Domingo", p. [23]-30, is a partial English translation of the author's Opinion ... sur les causes et les remèdes des désastres des colonies, first printed Paris, 1792
"Appendix. Since the preceding Inquiry was printed, advice has been received, that the National Assembly, on the 24th instant, passed, almost unanimously, the following decree respecting the colonies", p. [31]-32, has separate caption title
